In an event that is considered the first of its kind in the Egyptian chess scene, the first founding meeting of the Egyptian Chess Players Association will be held in Tanta on Thursday, October 9, 2025, with the participation of an elite group of chess champions and a number of figures interested in developing intellectual sports in Egypt.

The association is being established as part of Egyptian players' efforts to unite and create an official body that represents them, defends their rights, and contributes to the development of the game at the local and international levels, in a move aimed at establishing the principle of participation and genuine representation within the chess community.

The inaugural meeting will be held to discuss the association's goals and future vision, review its internal regulations and working procedures, and elect a temporary board of directors to manage the first phase of the association's activities, in addition to exploring mechanisms for cooperation with the Egyptian Chess Federation and relevant sports authorities.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the late Abdelkader Ezz El-Raghal Rapid Chess Tournament will be held, which is the association's first official event, with the participation of a large number of players from different governorates, in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, commemorating the late Abdelkader Ezz El-Raghal, one of the prominent figures in the Egyptian chess community.

The event is expected to witness a distinguished attendance of players, coaches, sports figures, and media personalities, confirming that the newly formed association represents a new starting point for organized collective work that contributes to supporting and developing Egyptian chess and raising the efficiency of its players at various levels.
