The Egyptian Chess Federation is participating in the 2025 African Youth Chess Championship, hosted by the Republic of Cape Verde on the island of Santiago from September 17 to 25, 2025.
The Egyptian national team delegation includes Grandmaster (GM) Adham Mohamed Fawzi as the team coach, Federal Master (FM) David George Samir as a player, and Women's International Master (WIM) Jana Mohamed Zaki as a player.
Each African federation is entitled to send up to three players in the open category and three players in the girls' category. Cups and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, and the winner will earn the right to participate in the 2026 World Youth Championship.
The tournament is scheduled to be held over nine rounds from September 18 to 24, with the official departure on September 25. We wish Egypt's young champions the best of luck in this important continental tournament, hoping that they will achieve new accomplishments to be added to the list of Egyptian chess achievements.
